an entire meadow of lavender could not contain
enough natural poison to comfort my brain.
clouds, royal purple tied down to long grass,
balloons full of helium, heavy with mass.
theatre of operations,
a play in real life,
reality television,
a loved, estranged wife.
farmland in the oceans,
bouquets of soft pearls,
grown by incredibly
beautiful girls.
mermaids that live under seas in the storm,
they hide beneath waves, keeping promises sworn.
all of these things make more sense than this mess,
i'd follow you freely, just to sleep on your chest.
but none of this matters, sensibility's gone.
i'll sleepwalk this evening to wake up on your lawn.
