grow accustomed to the cold
or fog up and dampen, turn to mold
or mould yourself into another
change and shift and blow your cover
until they notice who you are
notice your freckles and scars
because nobody notices until they can see
what lies underneath is identity
not what is surfaced before the guts
but the guts inside the deepest cuts
are actually the guts that depict your purpose
and matter most when the truth will surface
call it an act of sudden judgement -
when truth on the outside just won't cut it
when you know nothing of underneath
take the time to clench your teeth
and force yourself to understand
not everyone is a decent man
but also find that in yourself
acceptance of others is moral wealth
and although people are unkind and mad
what brings us to judge them is cruel and sad
