a far from perfect sonnet

i don't like to think back to that day,
the morning that froze my lungs.
my mind states will alter like clay,
i must first remember step one.

i had taken an offer from a friend on call,
his own interest was his best advice.
he offered me something i imagined quite small,
before i could hang up the device.

the smallest actions are often most true,
in conclusion, i gave in to his suggestion.
his thought seeds inside my mind grew,
into something for my brain's digestion.

he told me to be creative, daring and bright.
looking back on his request, he had every right.
