we're all animals when we're kids

i remember having my face painted up like a lion.

pastels, chalk, water colored cups and brushes.
bicycles and pokemon served as my rushes.

now i like cold beer and listening to sounds
as the rest of my life accumulates in pounds
on my shoulders.

the cycle, fig.1:
need money-> make money ->
spend time -> waste time ->
spend money -> waste money ->
need/make more money -> do it all again.

innocence is the most beautiful thing on this planet.
i am no longer naive, i am no longer given the upper hand.
right now i'm eating crumbs from hands i can't trust.
but to bite these hands would be naive in itself.
i now realize more than i ever have before.

life is an incredible, and beautiful chore.
